📚 A Chapter Closes: The Montessori Programme at Moturoa School

Moturoa School has a rich history of supporting diverse educational approaches, and for many years, we were the proud host of the New Plymouth Montessori Primary Programme.

Since 2006, the primary classes of the New Plymouth Montessori school had been an integral part of our kura, providing a unique learning pathway for students from Years 1 to 6. Our school community embraced the Montessori philosophy, which fosters independence, a lifelong love of learning, and holistic development through self-directed activity and hands-on, collaborative play.

Moving to Westown School

As of 2025, the New Plymouth Montessori Primary Programme has transitioned to a new home at Westown School.

We celebrate the years of successful partnership and the vibrant contribution the Montessori tamariki and whānau made to our school's culture. While the physical classes have moved, we are confident the legacy of their unique educational journey will continue to flourish in their new environment. We wish the entire New Plymouth Montessori community all the very best for this exciting new chapter at Westown School.
