Ako - This is understanding that the process of learning is shared, interactive, and revolves around the learner. We are responsible for elevating the mana of the learner through our culture and experiences of respect, responsibility and resilience.
Mahi Tahi - This is working with our community to enhance the mana of the learner and ensure they experience progress and success with their whanau. We are responsible for fostering relationships with family and whanau based on unity and respect.
Moturoa School is an inclusive setting where diversity is celebrated and all learners’ needs are supported. We have an array of approaches to teaching and learning including Playful Learning, Montessori Learning, as well as our own Native Plant Study programme.
At our school we protect and nurture our local environment by propagating native coastal plants endemic to Taranaki. Our students are involved with growing and planting restoration projects with local iwi, hapu, Department of Conservation and local council.
